The Rt. Hon. The visit was part of Williamson’s tour around various Further Education providers and institutions that allows him to share the aims, plans, and aspirations he has for the education sector.

In the meeting, they covered collaborative working and encouraging schools, universities, and employers to work together. They also discussed what high quality Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) is in place already and where it can be developed.

As well as discussing Local Skills Escalators to Level 4 and above, there was a lot of emphasis on the importance of good local leadership, governance, and strategic vision.

Principal and CEO of South Devon College, Laurence Frewin, said: “It was a great discussion and a fantastic opportunity to share a glimpse of the exciting developments we’ve worked hard on making here at the College. We were honoured to be able to provide a space for this discussion to take place and continue to build our relationships with local schools.”
