Multi-sector Plymouth law firm, GA Solicitors, has made four internal promotions and employed four new members of staff as it expands its offering to meet client needs.

Robert Zacal, experienced employment solicitor, has been promoted from associate to partner after five years with the firm. In addition to his outstanding legal work, Robert has delivered numerous seminars to local professionals and business owners and is also chair of the West Devon board of Young Enterprise.

Three solicitors from within the firm have also been promoted to associate level; Anna Wonnacott, an inheritance, wills and trust disputes specialist, and Laura Lofting and Donna Butler, both residential conveyancing solicitors.

In addition to the promotions, four new team members have joined the firm. Qualified solicitor Hannah Madders has joined the busy commercial property team, and Rachel Eyre has joined the family department as a divorce and finance solicitor. Two support staff members have also been recruited to work in the award-winning residential conveyancing department; Charis Trinder and Ashleigh Smithers.

Talking of the appointments, Stephen Ramsden, managing partner of GA Solicitors, commented: “In a service led profession choosing and retaining the right staff members is crucial. Our jobs are often as much about dealing with and understanding people as it is about providing high quality legal advice.

“With his years of experience and growing reputation, Robert is a welcome new member to the partnership. The newly named associates have proven themselves to be hardworking and dedicated, providing excellent levels of client service, all of which has led to them taking this important first step towards partnership.

“With our recent new rankings in The Legal 500, Chambers & Partners UK and Chambers & Partners High Net Worth, this continues to be an exciting time for GA.”

With more than 200 years of heritage, GA Solicitors is a leading Plymouth law firm with 79 members of staff offering guidance across seven specialist departments: business; family; employment; dispute resolution; wills, trusts & probate; conveyancing and personal injury.
