Plastic Free North Devon Introduces New Website

By | |

New web site offers resources to help individuals and organisations reduce their plastic footprint.

Plastic Free North Devon announces today the launching of www.plasticfreenorthdevon.org, a web site devoted towards increasing understanding and awareness of issues related to plastic pollution, supporting information that can help residents, tourists and businesses reduce their dependence on single use plastic in North Devon and details of how the North Devon community can support and/or become directly involved as a volunteer.

The Plastic Free North Devon web site offers factual information about the plastic pollution crisis and access to resources to help individuals, tourists, schools, community groups and businesses eliminate single use plastic from their daily lives. The web site also highlights the different activities Plastic Free North Devon manage across North Devon including the visitor campaign, school talks, the Refill water bar and beach cleans. Visitors can also financially support Plastic Free North Devon with a single or regular donation by completing the online sponsorship form.

“Plastic Free North Devon is committed to reducing the negative daily impact we have on the natural environment that surrounds us,” commented James Szymankiewicz, chair of Plastic Free North Devon. “Introducing a web site will help us reach a greater number of people, let them know what we do and why. With our planet in crisis, the work that we do is now more important than ever.”

Ongoing awareness and activities are also being worked through the Plastic Free northern Devon Consortium. This enables Plastic Free North Devon to work alongside fourteen like minded organisations including North Devon Council, Torridge District Council, Beaford Arts, AONB, Petroc College, Westward Ho! Business Association and North Devon Biosphere.
