The South West’s fastest-growing firm of chartered accountants, Thomas Westcott, has merged with Okehampton-based accountancy practice Robert Humphry.
Since being established in 1991 Robert Humphry and his team have provided accounting, taxation and corporate services to a wide range of businesses and individuals, garnering a reputation for excellent client-focused services.
As part of the deal Robert Humphry’s clients and staff have moved into Thomas Westcott’s offices at 5 West Street, Okehampton.
Robert has taken up a role as consultant at the firm and will work alongside Sarah Watts, partner in charge of Thomas Westcott’s Okehampton office.
Robert said: “I am very proud of my achievements since setting up my practice and couldn’t be happier to now be joining forces with a larger firm that truly understands and shares our values when it comes to local knowledge and service excellence.
“Rest assured our clients will still receive the same friendly and professional service they have enjoyed for almost 30 years and, what’s more, will benefit greatly from a much wider range of skills and expertise thanks to Thomas Westcott’s scale and resources.”
He added: “On a personal note I have known Sarah Watts, both professionally and socially, for more than a decade and have no doubts that we will work happily together ensuring our clients get the very best, locally-informed, accountancy and business advisory services available.”
With 250 members of staff, including 57 fully qualified accountants, spread over 18 offices in Devon and Somerset, Thomas Westcott is the South West’s fastest-growing independent firm of chartered accountants.
Commenting on the merger Sarah Watts said: “Whilst as a firm we have a lot of offices and people, our clients are serviced from local offices by a local partner, so very much in keeping with the culture Robert’S clients have always enjoyed.
“This focus ensures we always deliver a personal service but with an added depth of expertise from our various specialists across the firm.”
She added: “Robert and I are working very closely to ensure the transfer is as seamless as possible, giving the clients continuity of quality and service from the combined office.”
