The next generation of construction plant operators had a fantastic Christmas presents with the arrival of a new JCB 140X Tracked Excavator and the Dumper with cab.
Both machines were bought by Duchy College to replace the older models and NOCN/CPCS assessor Fenton Kearny confirmed the College is the first CPCS training centre to have the new JCB140X.
Level 2 Plant Operations student, Nick Bone, from Bideford, said “it’s a great course to be on and it’s been made even better by having the new machines”.
“I plan on going to work in the industry and feel I am being well prepared,” he added.
Plant Operations, instructor, Connor Edwards, said it was “brilliant” to be able to provide learners with new machines that reflect industry standards.
“Getting our hands on the latest in machine technology means we can train students on machinery that will put them ahead of the game when they go into the industry,” he added.
