London Soho Stylish Inspires Future Cornish Hairdressers

By | |

With over 25 years of international hairdressing expertise, stylist Lisa Whiteman delivered an inspiring demonstration to the next generation of hairdressers in Cornwall.

Hundreds of students from Cornwall College St Austell, Saltash and Camborne gathered at the Keay Theatre, St Austell, to listen to the award-winning stylist and global ambassador for the exclusive brand Goldwell UK.

This was Lisa’s first visit to the duchy to give a demonstration to Cornish students and she said how “engaged” they were.

“My aim was to share the message about embracing all the training opportunities given while at college and beyond and staying motivated will help with their success,” she explained.

During the demo Lisa cut and styled some of the students’ hair, and while doing so gave an in-depth description of the techniques she was using as well as discussing her career.

One of the student models, Hayley Masters, said “Lisa was lovely and made you feel really relaxed”.

“I really enjoyed the experience of having my hair done and love what they have done,” she added.

Lead for Hair and Beauty Tracy French said the experience was “fantastic” and “aspirational”, not only for the students, but the whole lecturing team.

“This was such a great opportunity for our students to have someone of such high caliber and at the top of their industry to come down from London to showcase their skills,” she explained.

“We’re proud to be the only College in Cornwall that offers this exclusive learning opportunity to our students.”

Hairdressing Student Rowena Jones said the seminar was very useful and informative.

“I learned some good techniques for adding depth to hair colour and some different cutting techniques,” she added.
