Students at Duchy College Stoke Climsland have been having fun and immersing themselves in college life at the annual Freshers’ Fair.
Organised by the Student Union, there were plenty of activities on offer, including laser tag and a magic mirror. There were also over 60 exhibitors speaking to the students and distributing information, including the Police, Samaritans, Invictus Trust, RNLI Lifeguard, Flying Start Nurseries, Pregnancy Crisis Care, Army, Navy, RAF, Stoke Climsland Village Shop, Better Leisure and Your Shore Beach Rangers among others.
Chair of the Student Union, Shannon Turner, said this year’s SU fresher’s fair has been a great success.
“There was so much to do and lots of stalls to visit with air graffiti a big hit. All the students had a great time,” she added.
Sport student Adam Patterson said the fair “has been awesome”.
“We took part in laser tag and there was an airsoft shooting range,” he continued.
“Lots of people spoke to us on the stalls and we got some brilliant freebies!”
Student Liaison Officer, Mia Giudetti, who organised the event, said the fair was “our way of welcoming new students and showcasing the very best of what the College has to offer”.
“It was packed with something for everyone,” she continued.
“We had lots of feedback from the students who really enjoyed a vast range of activities, magnificent freebies and stalls. It is incredibly important to us that the students feel welcome, and above all, happy at College. We would like to thank all our staff, exhibitors and visitors who made the event such a success.”
