SWBC member Konnect Communities has a mission to deliver real change that lasts. The organisation has roots in mentoring those coming out of, or at risk of falling into, the criminal justice system and in restorative justice to support the victims of crime. Expertise in this area has seen the organisation become a leading delivery partner in projects across Cornwall through which they have secured opportunities in education and employment for members of the community who need support to overcome barriers and achieve their aspirations.
As an extension of their core client-led work Konnect Communities have recently been successful in gaining investment from the European Regional Development Fund and Cornwall Council to deliver a new project called Konnect for Business. This exciting project will be offering support f o r businesses, in some of Cornwall’s most deprived areas, through bespoke mentoring to help overcome barriers to growth. Working collaboratively with each business, specialist Business Mentors will Identify barriers, plan how to overcome them and provide practical support across the range of business needs, from recruitment and retention to growth and identifying new opportunities.
With an aim of supporting 90 Businesses the Konnect for Business team is now looking for an experienced business professional to join them. This would be a perfect role for someone who has worked in business, including roles at senior level, and can draw on a deep well of personal experience to support business clients. They will have a sensitive approach to working with businesses together with the ability to quickly build rapport with people at all levels within the organisations they are supporting.
