GA Solicitors advises on Saltash Leisure collaboration

By | |

Established Plymouth law firm, GA Solicitors, has advised upon the lease of a large industrial unit in Saltash which will see the collaboration of two local leisure providers to create an innovative and new multi-use offering in the town.

Local gym owner, Lee Russell, and Mo Gregory, owner of Saltash’s gymnastics and soft play venture Zero Gravity, have joined forces to lease an industrial unit in Saltash to establish Sport, Leisure and Active Lifestyle, under the advisement of Tony Dupreez of GA Solicitors.

The leisure facility is a not-for-profit venture, designed to enrich the local community, and is in the process of being registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC). As well as a recreational and training facility, the team will work alongside occupational therapists to tailor specific movement programmes for young people, as well as supporting schools and providing CPD to teachers.

Zero Gravity as a gymnastics and soft play centre will remain in Gilston Road, whilst the new unit, which covers nearly 5,000 sq ft, will be completely renovated to house a well-equipped gym, a boxing ring, as well as trampolines, parkour – freestyle gymnastics, a ninja course and wall scrambling. The site, backed by the British Gymnastics Association, will be unique within the South West and located within Moorlands Trading Estate.

Tony Dupreez, commercial property solicitor and partner of GA Solicitors, commented: “The partnership of these two leisure providers will create a fantastic offering for the people of Saltash and its surrounds. There is nothing like this currently available and, with this collaborative approach it will appeal to people of all ages and fitness.

“This was an interesting matter to advise upon and it has been rewarding to see two local business people join forces in such a cohesive and positive manner to support their local community.”

Mo Gregory, co-owner of Sport, Leisure and Active Lifestyle, added: “This is a very exciting time for Lee and I. We are commencing immediately on renovating the unit, including the creation of a mezzanine level to create more usable floor space.

“Tony has been incredibly helpful throughout the transaction, providing clear advice to ensure we were fully protected throughout the purchase and highlighted any potential risks and legalities associated with the deal.

“We hope to welcome our first visitors and members by mid- July and are planning a number of open days and taster sessions so people can see all we have to offer.”

Tony Dupreez is an experienced commercial property solicitor. He joined GA Solicitors in 2012 and was promoted to partner in July 2017.
