Finalist in Entrepreneurial Spirit Category of Great British & Northern Irish Entrepreneur Awards 2019.
Earth Friendly Foodware today announces its selection in the South West final of the Great British Entrepreneurial Awards 2019 having been selected for the Entrepreneurial Spirit category.
Founded in 2013, the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards acknowledges the hard work and inspiring stories of entrepreneurs and businesses in the United Kingdom. The South West Awards recognises businesses from Gloucester to Poole and across the remainder of the South West. Category winners of the regional finals will go forward to the national awards later this year. The Entrepreneurial Spirit Award celebrates an entrepreneur who leads the way for their business, a strong work ethic with ability to take action, has a hunger for opportunity and a willingness to find solutions to challenges and problems.
“We are thrilled to be selected,” stated Andrew Cross, Founder, Earth Friendly Foodware. “With the business now operating on three fronts, this recognises the success we have had so far.”
Earth Friendly Foodware operates three businesses. Earth Friendly Foodware, a compostable food and drink packaging supplier to the trade; Refuse & ReUse, a manufacturer of reusable homeware products and North Devon Soap, a manufacturer of 100% natural soap to the wedding and retail gift markets.
“We started Earth Friendly Foodware in late 2017 focused on supplying local food retailers with compostable packaging having seen the impact oil-based plastic was having on our natural environment. As we learnt more about the plastic pollution crisis, it became clear reuse was a better alternative to single use. In Easter 2018, Refuse & ReUse started supplying homeware products that replace items of single use plastic with alternatives that can be used over and over again. This year we introduced a soap brand, North Devon Soap, which supplies palm oil free, 100% natural soap, plastic free wedding favours to eco-conscious brides and grooms as well as supplying retail stores with eco-friendly North Devon souvenirs to residents and tourists alike. Our journey so far has exceeded my expectations and we are excited to see what the future will bring.”
