Duchy College opens doors for Courses and Careers Advice morning

One of the region’s leading land-based colleges is opening its doors to give an insight into the wide range of education and training options available.

Duchy College will be playing host to prospective students on Saturday 21st March between 10am and 12 noon.

Alongside opening up the campus, experts will be on hand to give advice on potential future careers.

Students from the College have recently been in the news for winning national awards and partaking in fantastic trips at home and abroad to gain insights into the working world.

Head of College, Jamie Crisp, said the event will give all future students the opportunity to “meet our expert staff, find out about particular courses, learn about progression routes and discover the wide range of career options”.

“It is also offers a great chance to tour the campus and take home lots of valuable information,” he added.

Advisors will be on hand to offer a range of information on all aspects of college life including the range of courses, study programme, transport, accommodation, and learning support.

Boasting award-winning faculties, state-of-the-art facilities, including Future Farm a brand new research and training farm due to open in May, and industry-focused training; the College is able to give students all the experience and skills necessary for their future career.

Courses start at entry-level with progression routes up to degree-level study. Options to study on full and part-time courses as well as NVQ and Apprenticeship qualifications are available.

“Students have the choice of a college course or apprenticeship, and this event will help them with that decision making process,” Jamie explained.

“We are looking forward to welcoming potential students and their families onto our campus.”

The course offering at Stoke Climsland includes; agriculture, animal management, children, schools & families, construction plant, equine, food technology, foundation learning, gamekeeping, land-based engineering, military & protective services academy, outdoor adventure and sport, not to mention university courses.
