Redpaws Pet Shop, based in Plymouth, has been awarded “Best Pet Shop 2018” at the Dog Friendly Awards organised by The Kennel Club and “Independent Pet Retailer of the Year” by the Pet Industry Federation.
The lady behind the success is Samantha Hunt, who started the award-winning business five years ago.
“Achieving the awards means the absolute world,” she explained.
“I’ve worked so hard building my business from a tiny table of treats to what we have grown into in just five years. I never believed we could win, but I’m so proud of my business and team achievements. It has definitely made all the low and very hard moments worthwhile”.
Samantha offers nutritional and husbandry advice to all her clients as she has a wealth of experience and knowledge, which is supported by her completing a Foundation Degree in Animal Health & Management at Duchy College.
FdSc Programme Manager at Duchy College, Michelle Chappell, said everyone was “delighted to hear of Samantha’s successes”.
“They are very well deserved as she works incredibly hard to balance both academic and work commitments,” she said.
“She also brings a breadth of experience which supports both her and fellow peer studies during debates and discussions of the pet supply industry.”
