Rural businesses, organisations and apprentices from across the South West have been invited to help shape the future of apprenticeships and technical qualifications in the region and beyond.
Hosted at Bicton College in Devon and delivered by Landex on behalf of IfATE (The institute for apprenticeships and Technical Education), the specialist workshop will take place on the 6th March 2020, 10.30am – 3pm.
The workshop, which is one of a series being held around the country during March, is free to attend and includes lunch and networking.
Director of Quality Enhancement at Landex Alex Payne stressed that it is essential that local employers, trade bodies and apprentices attend the event to contribute to the review.
”We believe this is a crucial piece of work for the sector, with the outcome of this review influencing apprenticeship standards and subsequently the T-Level provision,” she added.
Landex has represented the interests of land based Colleges and Universities and the industries they serve during a period of continuous change and development.
Andy Daw, Head of Bicton College said the College was “delighted to be hosting” the event.
“This will help us understand the needs of local employers and will ensure the development of future apprenticeships and T-levels are fit for purpose.”
The Cornwall College Group, which oversees Bicton College and Duchy Colleges, has invested heavily in the rural sector, including the development of upcoming research and training facility Future Farm at Duchy Stoke Climsland.
