Be Ready Employer Hub

By | |

The Be Ready Employer Hub is a new free-to-use support service which launched at SWBC’s spring conference. It is helping Devon-based employers recruit and support staff with a disability and / or long-term health condition. Nearly one in five people of working age in the UK have declared they have a disability – and 83% of disabilities are gained while in work.

As we face the unique situation of the coronavirus national lockdown, the Be Ready Employer Hub is available to provide support and guidance through a combination of on-line information and training workshops. In our launch presentation, we referred to the fact that current circumstances may drive employees to disclose their disability or health-condition for the first time, as their condition had not impacted on their ability to work previously. We can provide guidance and links to specialist support for employers – free of charge – if this is happening in your business. This includes mental health conditions, which may become more prevalent as the nation’s lock-down continues.

We are contactable by phone on 01392 241124, or on-line at www.readydevon.gov.uk (our new website regularly updates information relating to employees with disabilities and health conditions). We will be making our training workshops available as interactive video conferencing sessions – you only need internet access to participate, so these can be delivered to employees based at home (see website for when these will be available)
