Delegates from across the country gathered at Exeter Science Park for a prestigious annual conference hosted by the United Kingdom Science Park Association (UKSPA).
UKSPA selected Exeter as the location for this year’s event, which brought together representatives from Science Parks and innovation organisations across the UK.
Over two days, industry leaders, stakeholders, and UKSPA members explored critical topics and shared best practices. The conference featured sessions on key themes, including Funding Beyond the Golden Triangle, Sustainable and Effective Incubation Ecosystems, The Journey to Net Zero Carbon Science, and Navigating Volatile Market Conditions in Procurement.

Keynote speeches were delivered by Stuart Brocklehurst, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Business Engagement and Innovation, University of Exeter; Ahmed Goga, Director, Great South West Partnership and David Ferguson, Head of Net Zero Innovation, EDF UK.
Many delegates stayed at voco Zeal Hotel, the new net-zero carbon hotel which opened on the Science Park site in February. The hotel also served as the venue for the conference dinner.
Founded in 1984, UKSPA champions the growth and success of Science Parks, technology incubators, innovation centres, and other hubs of innovation across the UK, providing support and representation for its members.
Sally Basker, Chief Executive of Exeter Science Park and newly appointed Chair of UKSPA, said: “The conference provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the south west’s innovation ecosystem. It was inspiring to be part of so many discussions exploring the future of the sector and the incredible work being done across the country to drive innovation forward.”
