This National Graduate Week (28 th October – 1 st November), Izzy, a graduate in Exeter is helped to highlight Stagecoach South West’s commitment to diversity by bringing fresh perspectives and a passion for creating an inclusive workforce through their Graduate Leadership Programme.
Izzy Bullough who recently joined the Exeter team as an Assistant Operations Manager
(AOM) through the Stagecoach Graduate Leadership Programme is part of a team of four
responsible for activity across Exeter including making sure the buses run on time, working with the local authorities and driver recruitment.
The Stagecoach Graduate Leadership Programme is designed to develop the next
generation of Stagecoach leaders and has given Izzy the opportunity to spend time working across all departments in the business gaining vital hands-on experience of the bus industry including obtaining her Category D licence which allowed her to spend time driving in service, as well as working shifts in engineering such as shunting, cleaning and inspections.
Izzy Bulloch Graduate Assistant Operations Manager for Exeter said: “My experience so far has been both rewarding and fast-paced allowing me to learn to drive a bus, as well as organise 450 drivers across Exeter. In operations, you never sit still. Every day in Exeter is different, and it’s a privilege to work with a passionate team who truly care about delivering great outcomes for our customers.”
A Manchester Metropolitan University graduate with a first-class degree in business
management, Izzy was determined to secure a place on Stagecoach’s competitive Graduate Leadership Programme. The rigorous three-stage recruitment process, culminating in an intense assessment day in Stockport, saw her stand out among hundreds of applicants.
Before relocating to the South West Izzy began her management career as a Graduate
Acting Assistant Operations Manager in Manchester at Stagecoach’s Middleton depot.
She added: “Moving from Manchester to Exeter was a big change. The rural nature of Devon makes operations more complex, but it’s been a great challenge, and I’m excited to settle into this beautiful region.”
Izzy is passionate about continuing her career with Stagecoach, aspiring to lead her own
team after completing the two-year graduate scheme in September 2025.
