Delegates and staff at CCB Training, part of the Cornwall College Group (TCCG), are celebrating 100% pass rate from the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH).
It was an incredible achievement considering the national average pass rate is 66%.
Delegates from Cornwall Fire & Rescue Services, CMT Services, Peninsula Learning Trust, Duchy College and Cornwall College came together to celebrate their achievements at a presentation hosted at Cornwall College, St Austell.
Chris Bate, Health & Safety Training Manager at CCB Training, said it was “an outstanding achievement”.
All delegates taking the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Level 3 passed their rigorous assignments laid down by the industry’s body.
“It cannot be overstated how difficult the NEBOSH General Certificate is to achieve hence the low national pass rate, so for our delegates to achieve a 100% pass rate is extremely rewarding both for them and the college,” Chris added.
Justin Olosundé, Director of Technology at TCCG congratulated each delegate as he presented them with their certificates.
“The NEBOSH General Certificate is highly recognised qualification within industry,” Justin commented.
“It not only benefits the employers both from the investment aspect in terms of personal development for their employees and the positive impact they can have on the business. It can also lead to enhancing the growth of a business and its reputation. “
Nick Harvey, Station Manager and Work Force Development Manager at Cornwall Fire & Rescue Services said the NEBOSH training was a “very sound investment for the Service”.
“Ensuring all our staff are appropriately trained to a level commensurate with their areas of responsibility enables us to move forward in our mission of ‘Working Together to make Cornwall Safer’,” he continued.
“The NEBOSH General Certificate is a highly regarded qualification for managers with broad responsibility for Health, Safety and Environment Practice and Management we sought local facilitators to deliver the course to our newest cohort of middle managers.
“We are delighted that our staff achieved a 100% pass rate, a fantastic reflection of their hard work and the quality of instruction received from CCB trainers.”
