A call has gone out to all lovers of guilt-tea pleasures around St Austell to come together and celebrate great food and company at the end of January.

A tea-rific value Cornish afternoon tea will be held at Cloisters Restaurant, Cornwall College St Austell on Monday 29th January.

There will be four sittings for the student-organised event at 11:30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

Food Preparation and Service student Miles Ball said how much they are looking forward to the “challenge” of running their own event.

“Having gained a great deal of confidence before Christmas with our Pop up shop, we’re proud to be taking on all aspects in the preparation, service and welcoming our guests to the restaurant,” he added.

Lecturer Caron Walwyn explained there would be a “fabulous selection of goodies” for guests.

“Customers will be served home-made scones, sausage rolls, quiches, mini pasties, a range of different cakes plus hot and cold drinks including a home-made apple juice – all of which the students have made themselves”

The price is £8.50 per person and cash or card can be taken on the day and bookings can be made by calling 01726 226740.
