Everyone is getting the chance to explore the fantastic opportunities and courses available at Duchy College Stoke Climsland when it opens its doors to the public this weekend.
Taking place on Saturday 27th January between 10 and 12, prospective students will be able to explore the beautiful campus and ask questions about their career options.
Head of College, Rob Dunn, said the event will be a “perfect opportunity for people to learn about the many ways in which they can achieve their goals”.
“Students have to stay in education until they are 18, although that doesn’t have to be at a school sixth form. They have the choice of a college course or apprenticeship and this event will help them with that decision making process.”
Rob outlined the range of incredible resources at Duchy College Stoke Climsland, including the working farm, industry-standard equestrian facilities, animal management buildings and sports facilities.
“Our extensive course list covers agriculture, agricultural engineering, equine, animal management, gamekeeping, construction plant, food, early years, sport, public services and a military academy,” he added.
Duchy College Stoke Climsland offers a wide range of courses types and progression routes, starting at entry-level and continuing right up to degree-level study, and there are numerous options to study on full- and part-time courses as well as NVQ and Apprenticeship qualifications.
“I would advise those looking into their options for further study this September to come to our event and find out more,” Rob continued.
“Friendly and knowledgeable advisors will be on hand to offer insights on all aspects of college life including courses, study programmes, transport, accommodation, student services, learning support, Cornwall College’s excellent Students’ Union and numerous sporting activities.”
Level 3 Sport (Plymouth Argyle) student, Adam Patterson, said he would “definitely recommend the College to others. It is a great place to learn, the facilities are great and the staff are really supportive.”
Rob added that “it’s been a great year for Stoke Climsland”.
“We have been working in partnership with a lot of businesses in the industries we cover and have some amazing opportunities within these companies. Our students have continued to excel in their respective course areas and 2017 has plenty of opportunities for everyone at the College.”
