University seeking new mentors, could this be you?

By | |

The University of Plymouth is seeking industry professionals to take part in its Mentoring Programmes.

Led by the University Careers Service, the programmes have already attracted local, national and international mentors from across a wide range of sectors, as well as students from across all disciplines of study.

Programmes vary in length and delivery so there are a variety of ways that professionals can get involved; from alumni e-mentoring and professional mentoring to more specialised and sector focused schemes.

Mentoring provides a great opportunity for employers to upskill their staff, while mentors themselves can contribute to their own professional development by enhancing their leadership and coaching skills.

Andy Aston, Global Managing Director, Turner and Townsend said, “It’s been great to have the opportunity to engage and support someone who really wants to progress in both their academic and professional career. I believe that our discussions have benefitted us both.”
