By | |

With one in five Exeter students receiving graduate job offers following a summer internship in their penultimate year, graduate recruitment is getting more challenging for employers wishing to recruit with an immediate start date. On average, students will apply for 8 graduate roles in their final year, before securing a job offer, with most starting the application process as early as September, up until March. The UK Graduate Careers Survey 2017.

Jo McCreedie of the University of Exeter commented “For SW business to retain graduate talent in the region, we would recommend the Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) scheme. By submitting your vacancy to us before Christmas, we can advertise and promote your opportunity until Easter, for a graduate to join you in Summer 2019. We even have funding to help SMEs with the cost of employing our graduates. Our well established scheme has helped hundreds of locally based firms recruit graduates.”
