The University of Exeter is pleased to announce we are now able to offer businesses the chance to advertise and recruit an Exeter student intern for a week (35 hours) with all associated salary costs and payroll administration covered by the University. As businesses adapt to the new landscape, due to the current COVID-19 situation, we have been working hard to do the same. As part of this work we have creatively worked to remodel one of our hugely successful internship programmes, Professional Pathways (details below).
- Pathways to Arts, Culture and Heritage
- Pathways to Charity and Development
- Pathways to International, National and Local Trade (incl. Business Development)
- Pathways to Marketing
This programme offers students the opportunity to work with a business within one of 4 sectors identified by our students as of particular interest. The internship would need to be on a remote working basis and ideally fall within one of the sectors identified above. As an organisation, if you feel you could benefit from some additional student help during these difficult times or perhaps have an under-resourced project, please see further details below.
The internship should be for no more than 35 hours of work. These hours can be carried out in any pattern to suit your needs up to the end of June. Therefore this could be part-time over a number of weeks or a week-long, full-time position. If you are able to offer an internship or discrete project for a student to undertake, we’d love to hear from you and would ask you to please complete the relevant short vacancy form found on each Pathway web page linked above, based on your relevant sectors pathway.
To allow flexibility, we are offering two recruitment windows in May:
- Thursday 14th May (advert goes live) – Wednesday 20th May (advert closes)
- Thursday 28th May (advert goes live) – Wednesday 3rd June (advert closes)
We do appreciate that you may not currently be in a position to take on a student, however if your circumstances change over the next few weeks, you are welcome to complete the form to advertise for a free intern up until Monday 25th May 2020. Please note, we can unfortunately only fund a finite number of internships and funding will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
We have experience of supporting employers with remote-working internships and are happy to offer advice and guidance where needed.
If you have any questions about the process, please get in touch with the team at [email protected].
