Professional Pathways 2024

By | |

The University of Exeter is pleased to announce we are once again able to offer businesses the chance to recruit an Exeter student intern for 35 hours this summer, with all associated salary costs and payroll administration covered by the University. We are now seeking organisations based in the South West who can offer a challenging internship via one of the following hugely successful Professional Pathways programmes:

Pathways to Arts, Culture and Heritage
Pathways to Charity and Development
Pathways to Marketing

The programme offers you the opportunity to work with motivated University of Exeter students keen to start their careers in their chosen sector. Prior to starting their internship, students will undertake employer- led training, week commencing 17 June 2024. The training is designed to provide an introduction to the sector and prepare them for their internship.

Each student will then undertake a 35 hour internship with an organisation in the sector. This can take place anytime between 24 June – 5 July 2024. The tasks/projects associated with the role, must relate to one of the three Pathway sectors listed above.

If you are able to host a student and provide an internship opportunity, please complete the short vacancy form for the relevant Pathway programme linked below:

Pathways to Arts, Culture and Heritage
Pathways to Charity and Development
Pathways to Marketing

Please note, funding for the 25 internships on each programme is allocated on a first come, first served basis, so we recommend submitting your internship opportunities as soon as possible. Employer applications will close no later than 28th March 2024 or when we have reached the maximum internship vacancies we are able to fund.

How does the process work?

Student applications for the programme have now closed and those shortlisted will take place in an assessment centre in March. Following this, the available internship opportunities for each Pathway programme will be shared with the successful students.

We then undertake a matching process to match the students to an internship, based on their chosen preferences. You will therefore not be required to undertake any recruitment and we would aim to confirm your matched student by the end of May 2024.
