Students and staff at Duchy College Stoke Climsland, working in conjunction with The Country Food Trust (TCFT), donated 2,400 meals to the local foodbank at Launceston and to Callington Soup Run.
TCFT is a registered charity that produces food and donates it to people in need, aiming to feed over 1,000,000 in the next five years.
To date, 450,000 meals have been delivered throughout the UK, to people in need in towns and rural areas.
Donations flooded in throughout December and one student even donated her own savings to the cause.
Student, Kayleigh Paddock, said dropping off all of the food and other essentials to the soup run and food bank was rewarding.
“We all worked together to efficiently unload all of the boxes and despite the bad weather we got it all done,” she said.
“It felt really good knowing that we were doing something kind and something that would have a positive impact on people, especially a difficult time like the holidays.”
Animal Management programme manager, Rebecca Egan, said everyone was “very proud” of the way all the students and staff have pulled together to help those less fortunate than themselves.
Gamekeeping programme manager and TCFT ambassador for Cornwall, Ian Berry, said it was “particularly relevant that we remember those in need at this time of year”
“However, we will be here to provide support as long as it is needed,” he added.
