Goonvean Group: supporting businesses to be the best they can be

Goonvean Group are a privately owned investment company, dedicated to helping businesses grow and the people and communities connected to those businesses thrive. A combination of professional expertise and open, communicative collaboration has helped us establish a multi-asset investment strategy across a wide range of industries.

Goonvean Group segments

To provide the best care and support for the diverse range of companies we represent, the Group divide our activities into four operating segments. These segments cover the manufacturing, engineering, reprocessing, and IT development markets.

Segmenting our operations has transformed the way we work. It has created a key focus on efficient application of resources, on sharing knowledge, on optimising product quality and customer care – and more.

Encouraging companies with similar product and service offerings to work closely together has driven positive, sustained levels of growth. It helps foster connection throughout the entire Group, enabling each and every company to optimise their potential for growth.

Goonvean Group community

Goonvean’s vision is to be the best in everything we do – and that’s a vision we bring to every business we acquire. An enormous part of this involves actively promoting connections throughout the Group, creating a community of businesses and the people they support.

In July of this year, we held our first Goonvean Games – a day of fun, sport, and charity fundraising. It was the first real opportunity for employees across the entire Group to come together and get to know each other. The Games were born out of an idea to hold an event that fulfilled all three of the Group’s core values: to be caring, connecting, and courageous.

Alongside the community the Group has built between our businesses, we are also committed to giving back to the local communities that support these businesses. This has taken the form of widespread charity fundraising, and supporting organisations such as Young Enterprise, in which Goonvean staff members helped students at a local secondary school come up with their own business ideas.

Goonvean Group charity fundraising

In 2024, the Goonvean Group embarked on a new mission to collectively raise money for our charity partners over the course of two years. After reviewing suggestions from across the Group, we chose to support Children’s Hospice South West and The Rotherham Hospice. Both charities have supported, directly and indirectly, members of the Goonvean team, and operate in areas that support Goonvean business locations and beyond.

The challenge was put out to members of Goonvean Group to raise money for these charities however they could – and the Group took up the challenge with incredible dedication. Alongside the Goonvean Games and Summer Raffle, our charity fundraising has included:

  • sponsored skydives
  • the Three Peaks Challenge
  • a Martial Arts Marathon Dojo Day
  • Bake-Offs
  • Fancy Dress Down Days

Across all these events, the Goonvean team have raised in excess of £18,000 so far – a phenomenal feat for the entire Group.

Goonvean Group exists to discover companies that value investment

We invest in companies to realise a shared goal of helping those companies and the people they support prosper. We are a legacy minded Group, interested in investing and retaining businesses for the long term. Our approach looks to the future and factors in the time and resources needed to make it a successful one.

“Goonvean Group has evolved significantly in recent times,” says Matthew Gazzard, Goonvean Group Managing Director. “Building on its strong foundations, the Group is positioned to become progressively stronger by strengthening its core competencies. We aim to become a ‘powerhouse’ based in the Southwest of England; attracting young talent and enhancing our businesses, all whilst focusing on the health and wellbeing of all who are connected to the Group.”
