Health Conference 2020

Date:
27/02/2020

TIME: 2:00 pm — 4:00 pm
VENUE: PL1 Restaurant, City College, Kings Road, Plymouth, Devon, PL1 5QG
PRESENTED BY: City College Plymouth

On Thursday 27 February, the PL1 Restaurant at City College Plymouth will be hosting the Care Conference 2020, when employers in the health sector are invited to tell us what your industry needs.

The health sector is undergoing huge expansion and the South West is currently seeing a boost of £450million to help develop a more integrated care system that is fully prepared to serve an ageing population. While growth and investment is welcome, we need to stop and ask “are we ready for this?”

City College staff are welcoming employers and businesses in this sector to help ensure that the College is equipping its students with the right knowledge and skills to meet the increase in demand. Your views are key to the College’s curriculum development, and it is asking for your help in shaping the workforce of the future.

The conference will start at 2.00pm with tea and cake on arrival, which will be followed by a series of talks. Speakers on the day will include: Ann James, Chief Executive of the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust; George Lilley, Director of Clinical Services at St Luke’s Hospice; and the College’s Principal and CEO Jackie Grubb. Talks will also be given by Karen Dorrow, Director of Business, Hospitality, Care and Lifestyle at the College;  Dr Adam Morris,  the CEO of Livewell South West CIC; and Plymouth City Council’s Director of Public Health, Ruth Harrell.

There will also be time set aside for round-table discussions before the event finishes at 4.00pm. If you would like to attend this conference and help develop the future of Plymouth’s health and care sector, e-mail [email protected].uk or call 01752 305026 before Friday 21 February.
