The current Cross Country rail franchise is due to end in December 2019, and the Department for Transport is running a competition to select the next operator for the franchise.
This consultation seeks views on various aspects of the Cross Country passenger rail service. This will inform what the Department for Transport asks from potential operators when reletting the franchise.
HotSW LEP is currently compiling a response to the consultation through its Place Leadership Group, with recommendations for the new franchise that will most benefit business in the Heart of the South West. The LEP’s response will be published before the end of the consultation period (30 August) with a link from the next newsletter. Any business or individual can submit their responses to the survey now at this link.
