BT appoints Jon Pollock as director of its Enterprise business in the South of England and Wales

Jon Pollock, BT Director of Corporate Sales, has been appointed as the director for BT’s Enterprise business in London, the South of England and Wales.

In his new role, Jon will be responsible for leading and expanding BT Enterprise’s relationships with businesses, from SMEs through to large corporates, and public sector customers across the south of the UK.

Dean Terry, MD Corporate and Public Sector of BT’s Enterprise unit, said: “Jon’s implicit understanding of our clients’ needs, and experience working with myriad customers, is going to prove invaluable as we continue to help our partners navigate through a very challenging business environment. I look forward to working with Jon and benefitting from his expertise in the southern regions and Wales.”

Joining BT more than four years ago from mobile company EE, Jon led the sales integration of EE, which became part of BT Group in 2016. In his previous role at BT, he was responsible for transforming the experience of corporate customers, taking it to market leading. 

Jon Pollock said: “The coronavirus outbreak has presented a number of unprecedented challenges to many of our customers, particularly in the healthcare, education, retail, leisure and travel industries. We’ve continued to support our partners throughout the pandemic, from the NHS and local government, through to large corporates and a specific package to support small businesses.

“As many of our customers adapt to the new normal, with some having to adopt new business methods and transition to online or virtual models, we believe in not only providing them with the best connectivity and technology, but on a flexible basis and with the associated professional services and support to guarantee their agility in responding to the ever-changing operating environment.”

He said that, while in the current climate, BT’s initial focus has been on helping its customers achieve greater business resilience, he believes that BT, with its nationwide presence, has a bigger role to play in the overall prosperity of the UK.

He added: “Working with the NHS, for example, we’ve supported their critical requirements throughout this period, including connecting the temporary hospitals set up across the UK in a very short timeframe, and providing solutions like LifeLines, a project giving a secure virtual visiting solution for families whose loved ones are in intensive care units.”

Jon is originally from Sevenoaks in Kent and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Imperial College Business School in London.

BT recently announced a major package of support to help the UK’s 5.8 million small businesses get better positioned for recovery and growth following the coronavirus outbreak and as they prepare for a post-Brexit future. The Small Business Support Scheme includes a range of new measures to help small businesses boost their connectivity, cash flow and confidence.

BT is also supporting the growth of its mid-market and larger corporate customers by helping them to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies such as full fibre, 5G, cloud services and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. These technologies are fueling customers’ digital transformation and will help to boost the performance of their business by making them faster, smarter and more agile.
