SME Finance: The Next Chapter (Virtual Round Table Event)

Date:
21/09/2020

TIME: 11:00 am — 12:00 pm
PRESENTED BY: SWIG Finance

This is a unique opportunity to hear from leading industry experts on how the finance landscape might unfold in the wake of COVID-19.

With 9.6m staff placed on furlough, almost a quarter of all businesses shutting shop and the UK now officially in a recession, this year has been an uncertain time for business owners.

Government intervention has seen, amongst other things, the introduction of grants, enhanced loan guarantees and business support platforms in efforts to financially stabilise the business population.

Following overwhelming demand, at the time of writing over £3.3bn has been lent to South West based SME’s under the CBIL guarantee and BBL schemes. With these initiatives up for review in September and November, we reflect on their (and other interventions) impact and discuss “what’s next?” for the smaller business community.

Please join us as we discuss a diverse range of perspectives with a panel of local independent and national industry professionals, whilst also hearing from prominent business community leaders. In addition, we welcome any questions you may have for our panel prior to the event.

Panellists

  • Paul Jones – Senior Manager UK Network Team South West, British Business Bank
