Research Festival: People at the Periphery

Date:
22/01/2019

TIME: 9:00 am — 12:00 pm
VENUE: Mast House, Room 202 Mast House, Mast House, Plymouth University, Plymouth, Devon, PL4 0HJ
PRESENTED BY: University of Plymouth

What is the impact of being on the periphery, whether geographically, socially, economically, or otherwise?

Brought to you by the Institute of Social, Policy and Enterprise Research (iSPER), researchers and businesses alike will join our leading academics to explore what it means to be on the outskirts of a centralised power.

We are delighted to welcome a keynote address from Paul Winterton, Managing Director of the award-winning local business Langage Farm, who will share insight into the collaboration he has developed with the University, and how it has helped strengthen and grow his business.

This will be followed by more discussions on how research at the University can benefit you and your business or organisation, with a marketplace of our research followed by Business Britain on the Periphery of Europe, a panel discussion on a new climate for enterprises in the UK following Brexit.

The event will provide you with plenty of opportunity to network with others from across the city, including academia and industry, and gain an understanding of how some of the leading research has direct relevant application to the workplace.
