ESRC Festival of Social Science 2018 Celebration

Date:
06/11/2018

TIME: 5:50 pm — 7:00 pm
VENUE: Roland Levinsky Building, University of Plymouth , Plymouth, PL4 8AA

Join The University Of Plymouth to celebrate with our Social Scientists, who will be showcasing their current research and demonstrating how it is changing lives.

Our celebration kick-starts a week of events which are organised and hosted by our Social Science researchers to offer an insight into their work and an opportunity to get involved. Proceedings will be launched by Professor Jerry Roberts, our Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, providing an overview of social sciences at the University and providing an insight into its impact. This will be followed by a short talk from innovative charity, Landworks, who will talk about their work with one of our researchers and how they think social science has benefitted their organisation.
You will then have the opportunity to enjoy canapés, good company and interactive displays of our ongoing research and impact, with the chance to find out more from a range of our social scientists.

This event is open to all. Please do forward this invitation to anyone you think would be interested in attending.

The Economic and Social Research Council’s (ESRC) Festival of Social Science offers a fascinating insight into some of the country’s leading social science research and how it influences our social, economic and political lives – both now and in the future. The University has hosted a festival as part of the ESRC’s annual programme since 2014.
