Supporting Greater Exeter’s recovery from coronavirus crisis.
A group of Exeter organisations has come together to create a taskforce to support Greater Exeter during the coronavirus crisis.
The Stronger Together taskforce includes representatives from Exeter Chamber of Commerce, InExeter, Tech South West, the FSB, the Heart of the South West Skills Partnership, Exeter City Council and local independent media organisations Radio Exe and Grow. It will focus on supporting businesses in the Greater Exeter area including East Devon and Teignbridge.
The group will deliver a series of initiatives and campaigns to support businesses during this unique economic challenge.
While the UK is still in lockdown, the taskforce is driving support for local businesses, focusing on how people can support them remotely. A marketing campaign will be launched next week starting with a ‘buy local’ video.
Clodagh Murphy, board director of Exeter Chamber, said: “The crisis has left no city unaffected and it’s only by coming together that we are going to move forward from this. Exeter and its surrounding area is strong and we will bounce back but we need to work as a team to make this happen.”
The ‘Stronger Together’ video will feature people from across Exeter’s community including grandparents, parents, young people, business owners, community leaders, volunteers, key workers, and the city’s sporting stars. Contributors will share what they buy locally, from food and clothing to business services. The first video will be launched this month.
Anyone wishing to contribute a video about how they buy local should send a 10 second clip (via WeTransfer) to firstname.lastname@example.org
